Privacy — Public Beta

Public Beta / Privacy

Know where
your data goes.

This page describes the current research beta. It will need review and updates before cloud accounts, email subscriptions or paid billing launch.

Number sets stay in your browser

The Number Vault stores your saved sets and optional labels in this browser’s local storage. The vault code does not send those sets or labels to a Pattern Picks account or server. There is currently no cloud sync. Anyone using this browser profile may see your saved sets. Clearing site data removes them.

Historical-data requests

The analytics workspace first requests stored historical records from Pattern Picks. When a window is incomplete, stale or unavailable, it connects directly to data.ny.gov; that provider then receives the dataset and date-window request from your browser. Its own privacy practices apply. Saved number sets are not sent with either request.

Website operation

The website is hosted on DreamHost and runs WordPress. Hosting and security systems may process routine request logs and technical information such as IP addresses, user-agent information and requested pages. A complete review of host, plugin and third-party retention settings has not yet been completed.

No subscriber account in this beta

The beta does not currently provide subscriber registration, payment collection or cloud number storage. Privacy practices for those future features will be documented before they open.

Control your saved sets

Use Remove in the Number Vault to delete a saved set, or clear this site’s browser storage to remove all locally saved sets. Local removal does not delete routine hosting logs. Do not use saved-set labels for passwords or other sensitive information.

Before paid launch

The project still needs a complete privacy and retention review, a published operator contact and reviewed subscriber terms before paid accounts are offered.
